Description Vacancy : Profile: Network Operations Engineer — Office Networking Squad — Utrecht — 36 Hours


Rabobank is looking for a Senior Network Operations Engineer to join the Office Networking Squad responsible for HPE Aruba SD-Branch based office network, delivering wired and wireless connectivity across Rabobank offices globally.

This is an operational squad role, not a project assignment. The engineer becomes part of an Agile team responsible for daily operations, service stability, changes, deployments, release testing, and continuous improvement in a large-scale enterprise environment.

Responsibilities
• Troubleshoot and resolve LAN, WiFi, SD-WAN, and authentication-related incidents.
• Perform structured root cause analysis on complex issues.
• Handle service requests, operational tickets, and changes independently.
• Interpret monitoring alerts and assess service impact.
• Drive improvements in automation, monitoring, documentation, and recurring incident reduction.
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
• Communicate with stakeholders, regional IT teams, suppliers, and end-users when needed.
• Participate in an occasional standby/on-call rotation.________________________________________

Must-have skills
• Strong knowledge of routing and switching.
• Good understanding of SD-WAN architectures, including overlays and underlying connectivity (e.g. IPsec, segmentation, routing behavior).
• Understanding of enterprise authentication flows (e.g. 802.1X/RADIUS).
• Solid experience troubleshooting in enterprise-scale network environments.
• Experience working within ITIL-based operations (incident/change management).
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of operational work.
• Strong communication skills in operational and stakeholder-facing situations.
• Python scripting: reading, modifying, and writing simple scripts.
• Experience with REST APIs and Git.
• Experience with monitoring/alerting and understanding service impact.________________________________________

Preferred skills
• Experience with Aruba Central, Aruba SD-Branch, and/or Aruba ClearPass
(or comparable enterprise networking / SD-WAN / NAC platforms)
• Ability to read logs and troubleshoot authentication/NAC-related issues.
• Confident to make configuration or policy changes in network and NAC environments.
• Automation mindset: improving operational efficiency using scripting, APIs, or similar.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices (e.g. version control, CI/CD concepts).
