Description Vacancy : Profile: Network DevOps Engineer — Phoenix Squad
Rabobank is looking for a senior Network DevOps Engineer to join the Office Network Squad responsible for evolving the Office Networks
Phoenix focuses on building new capabilities for the Office Network services, including new services (e.g. IoT networking), platform evolution (e.g. migration to Aruba New Central), and developing automation, Infrastructure as Code, and internal platforms for network operations.
This is an engineering-focused Agile role with limited operational interrupt work, but with responsibility for delivering scalable, future-proof solutions in a large enterprise environment.

Responsibilities
• Design and deliver new network features and services.
• Contribute to designs, standards, and reference architectures.
• Translate refined features (PBIs) into working technical solutions (~90% independently).
• Build automation, IaC, and internal tools/platforms for network deployment and management.
• Develop reusable code and integrate with APIs and external systems.
• Validate solutions (testing, pre/post checks) and ensure production readiness.
• Stay involved post-delivery to ensure high-quality handover to operations.
• Act as escalation point (L3+) for complex technical challenges.
• Collaborate with (Office Networking Squad) to deliver maintainable and operable solutions.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies focused on backlog and roadmap delivery.

Must-have skills
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking fundamentals.
• Good understanding of SD-WAN architectures, including overlays and underlying connectivity (e.g. IPsec, segmentation, routing behaviour).
• Experience with authentication and NAC concepts (e.g. 802.1X, RADIUS, ClearPass-level understanding).
• Strong Python development skills (beyond scripting; structured, reusable code).
• Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks and/or internal tools.
• Experience with REST APIs and system integration.
• Strong experience with Git-based workflows.
• Ability to take ownership of features from refinement to delivery.
• Strong communication skills and ability to challenge design decisions constructively.

Preferred skills
• Experience with Aruba SD-Branch, Aruba Central, and/or Aruba ClearPass
(or comparable enterprise networking / SD-WAN / NAC platforms)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (designing and maintaining, not just using).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps ways of working.
• Understanding of broader infrastructure context (integration with other platforms/services).
• Experience with Kong API gateway
• Knowledge about AzDo pipelines and Azure functions
