The Head FEC FLR Risk & Control Partners is responsible for all (first line) operational risk-related activities of the FEC departments of the CFECO domain. The FLR department contributes to meeting the ambitious and strict internal and external commitments to become and stay compliant and in control. The Head FEC FLR Risk & Control Partners is responsible for professionalizing the FLR RCP department in this dynamic context. The FLR RCP department works closely together with the FLR Center of Expertise and stakeholders in 1Lor 2LoR and 3LoR in assessing and design, implement, execute and monitor risk control activities to ensure adherence to applicable laws and (internal) regulations and translating these to clear, consistent and actionable Risk & Control activities.

Also, the Head FLR RCP is responsible for the planning, execution of these Risk & Control activities within the FEC departments. As a partner and/or (functional) member of the MTs of the Global Heads, the Head FLR RCP makes a strategic contribution to the development of the long-term vision of the Global FEC departments in terms of risk and compliance. As a result of these activities and responsibilities the management of the FEC domain is advised, supported and challenged to become and stay demonstrably in control.
The Head FEC FLR Risk & Control Partners will actively collaborate with all relevant internal and external stakeholders, specifically the Global Heads of the different FEC departments and the First Line Risk departments of other domains, e.g. Bedrijven, Particuliere Klanten, Operations, and CITO.

You will have 3 direct reports of 3 different teams, totaling 15-20 FTE in total. The 3 direct reports have their own hierarchical responsibilities.
The overall goal of the Global FEC FLR department is to enable CFECO management to manage their departments including their risk and control activities and achieve their goals. The FLR RCP department is partner in business and supports and challenges management optimally in executing the risk and control activities and providing actual insights in risk developments, control effectiveness, finding progress, operational incidents and providing expertise and support on risk related activities regarding Business Continuity, Privacy, Record Keeping, Third Party Management, Data Management, Model Risk Management etc. and other internal and external stakeholders.

You and your job
Main responsibilities:
• Responsible for employee engagement and development of craftsmanship;
• Support the Global Heads with their risk management activities, covering the full scope of the CFECO domain (e.g., covering the scope and responsibilities of the FEC CDD, FEC TM, FEC
SM, Tribe FEC Tech, FEC Investigations, FEC Remediation, FEC R&QM, and FEC Business Advisory departments);
• Building, executing, validating and safeguarding a high-quality risk control framework within the FEC departments;
• Identifying risks and impediments that (may) influence the realisation of the objectives of the CFECO domain and propose solutions, so that the chance and impact of the identified risks is
reduced;
• Stakeholder management with FLM, FLR of adjacent domains, CLR, SLM and Audit, e.g., making process agreements, coordinating control planning, and 3 LoD consultation;
• Sparring partner and representative for executive management when it comes to risk, control and compliance themes;
• Organizing insight, overview and predictability of the risk and control activities;
• Maintain and improve control culture across the FEC departments by actively promoting the understanding of risks and controls and mechanism to manage this;

You and your talent
 Academic education/level of thinking
 Proven experience and knowledge regarding (operational) risk management:
 Minimum 10 years’ experience in a management role in a similar sized complex environment
 Act responsible with regard to identified risks and actively manage adherence through the establishment of a strong risk culture, risk assessments, controls and mitigating actions to stay
within the defined risk appetite
 Thorough understanding of the entire customer life cycle of a client and FEC activities within a financial institution
 Proven impact in complex and changing context aimed at creating risk awareness, remediation and developing and motivating employees.
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Fluent in English)
 Knowledge of Wwft and GDPR
