We are looking for a Finance Specialist who would like to work in a challenging and international environment to enable the bank with financial reporting with utmost accuracy and quality. You and your job

Imagine that you can convert data into reliable reports for both internal management and regulators in no time. As a Finance Specialist, you can make this difference by providing financial information for the bank's external and internal reporting. Your work also forms the foundation on which senior management bases its policy decisions. Additionally, you focus on preparing financial reports (Financial Reporting (FINREP) and annual accounts) for the bank and reports to regulators (De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and the European Central Bank (ECB)). You are also involved in streamlining and automating new and existing processes, aimed at improving both the efficiency and quality of financial reporting activities.

Working together is the way we work. Our Group Financial Reporting (FinRep) Squad joins forces to provide financial information for the bank's external and internal reporting. With you as a Finance Specialist, the counter of this Squad stands at 8 diverse colleagues.

In this role, you are at the heart of Rabobank Group.

You will be a part of Tribe External Reporting. The Area Finance Reporting contributes to Statistical & Financial information (reports and datasets) for all segments of the Rabobank globally. You will collaborate closely with our colleagues both in and outside the Area. This role offers you the opportunity to partner and liaise with several departments, such as local finance, policies & regulations and business control and our (international) regulators. We strongly believe that working in multidisciplinary teams will lead to the best results. You will be challenged and encouraged to show initiative when working on innovative projects and improving processes and our planning and reporting applications.

Of course you are customer-oriented, convincing, eager to learn, proactive and result-oriented. It is precisely these qualities that make you a good Finance Specialist, especially in combination with:

• A completed financial education at university level, supplemented with at least 5 years of relevant work experience;

• In-depth knowledge of financial products;

• Extensive experience with financial reporting regulations;

• Strong affinity with data and IT (e.g. Knime / SQL is a plus, Abacus is a must);

• Good communication skills in English and/or Dutch in word and writing.

• Furthermore, you focus on collecting, analysing, and thoroughly understanding large volumes of Finance and Risk data. Thanks to your strong analytical and communication skills, you are able to make connections between different data sources, bringing clarity and insight to complex matters. You take responsibility and enjoy working independently.

- Welk resultaat wil je (voor jezelf) realiseren?

The candidate needs to ensure that the specific FinRep templates (to be identified at the start of the assignment) can be implemented into Abacus. The candidate needs to ensure that he/she is aware of the current process of the specific FinRep templates, needs to setup a transition plan and need to liaise with the PO and the Area Lead how he suggests implementing the specific FinRep template in Abacus. The final result will be presented to the PO of the FinRep group squad.

- Wat is de beoogde situatie op de einddatum?

The final date of all templates in Abacus is currently expected at 31 dec 2026, but for specific templates we like to determine intermediary goals. Therefore the current assignment is until 31 dec 2025, with a possibility to extend, based on the implementation of the specific FinRep templates identied at the start of the assignment.

- Welke specialistische kennis is benodigd?

The candidate should at least have 5 year experience with FinRep reporting. The candidate should have good experience with change environments within Financial institutions. The candidate should have experience with Abacus.

- Welke aanwijzingen wil je aan de zelfstandige kunnen geven?

At the start of the assignment the candidate will be appointed on specific FinRep templates and need to realize the above mentioned goals.

- Welke rol gaat de zelfstandige binnen het project vervullen en hoe verschillen de werkzaamheden van de werkzaamheden van werknemers?

The candidate will perform the role for their own responsibility. The candidate will support the run activities of the team only to get acquainted with the current way of working and to ensure that the candidate is able to realize the correct implementation in Abacus. The candidate should not be part of the regular activities of the team, other than the FinRep granular change activity of the Tribe.

- Is de zelfstandige vrij in de bepaling van de tijd en plaats van de werkzaamheden voor zover mogelijk?

The candidate is free to determine their own working time and place, although it need to be said that the team is regularly in the office on Wednesday. So physical meetings (if necessary) with the team can be best performed on Wednesdays or on any other day the candidate agrees this with the specific team member.
