Your Role and The Team
ING’s Payment and Settlement Services (“PSS”) aims to further mature, develop and expand ING’s state of the art payments platforms and settlements services. The PSS focusses on delivering payments and settlement services, meeting the expectations of ING’s business lines and beyond, whilst ensuring the basics: safe, secure, compliant, and reliable. The PSS is an independent unit within ING’s CTO domain, reporting directly into ING’s Chief Technology Officer.
The PSS is responsible for providing standardized payments and settlements services to multiple ING business lines (WB, Retail, and others). There is a clear ambition to also look for external commercialization of our payment platforms.
The PSS changes the organization towards a true Services-based organization and to deliver on ambitious promises, we have organized ourselves into a strong strategic and commercially focused organization around our eight services, where our squads working on those products are enabled by clear prioritization, accountability, and capabilities. And right there, the Customer Journey Expert ‘Squad Master’ Payments comes in.
The PSS Product team provides the Single European Payments Area Credit Transfer services (SCT). This includes the existing form of payments in singles and batches and the ‘new’ Instant Payments which is a payment which is processed within 10 seconds 24x7x365.
The CJE Squad Master is a new role within ING replacing the Product Owner Role. PSS works according to Agile principles in self-organizing teams. Together with other CJE’s you have an end-to-end responsibility for the development, and you have the main responsibility for the delivery and change. You will work with 2 or 3 SEPA TECH squads. As Squad Master you deliver the technical capabilities for Run and Change features. As CJE Squad Master, you'll
1) define with your squads the features 2) set priorities based on product strategy and 3) deliver the features with your squads in order to meet the Services KPI’s. As part of delivery we all fix the incidents with hot fixes and structural improvements.
2) In parallel you work on increasing the service maturity by 1) reducing complexity 2) enhancing our toolkit 3) set the roadmap for 1-3 years and 4) increase our thought leadership on SEPA CT.
The overall SCT team of 25 FTE is allocated in the Netherlands, Romania and the Philippines. They work together in country overarching sub teams: Services Run, Services Change and Services Onboarding. The CJE 'Squad Master' works in the ‘Service Change’ team with seven other Squad Masters Globally. You will report functionally to the the Senior CJE squad Master . Hierarchically you report to the Product Lead SEPA Credit Transfer in the Netherlands. The details of the collaboration between ING Netherlands and ING Hubs Manilla are contractually defined.
