About Vattenfall
Vattenfall is a European energy company with approximately 20,000 employees. For more than 100 years, we have been supplying energy to households and industries, modernizing society through innovation and cooperation.
Our ambition: to enable fossil-free living within one generation.
To achieve this, we are looking for talented specialists who combine technical expertise with strong team spirit. Within our digital products and services, Identity & Access Management (IAM) plays a key role in providing secure, reliable, and customer-friendly solutions.
Your Role
As a WSO2 IAM Developer within the Customer Recognition & Digital Identity (CRD) team, you will work at the core of our IAM landscape: the WSO2 Identity Server. You will help millions of customers access Vattenfall’s products and services securely and seamlessly — such as EV charging, solar panels, and home energy management.
Your contributions will include:
Designing and extending authentication methods
Implementing trust levels, role-based access, and session management
Integrating WSO2 IAM with front-end applications (App & Web), .NET back-end services, and SAP systems
Running experiments (e.g., A/B testing) to optimize login flows and user experience
Ensuring compliance with security and accessibility standards
Key Responsibilities
Develop, configure, and extend WSO2 Identity Server (authentication flows, service providers, identity federation, adaptive authentication)
Build and optimize API-driven integrations between WSO2, .NET microservices, SAP, and Azure services
Support Product Owners, UX specialists, and Security experts in refining customer identity and access journeys
Implement secure and user-friendly IAM flows (MFA, self-service account management, delegated access)
Automate CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps (YAML)
Proactively monitor and improve the performance, security, and compliance of IAM services
Requirements
Must-haves
Strong experience with WSO2 Identity Server (configuration, customization, extensions)
In-depth knowledge of OIDC, OAuth2, SAML, SCIM
Proficiency in Java (for WSO2 custom extensions) and API integration with .NET/REST services
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services (Web Apps, API Management, Container Apps, Cosmos DB)
Solid understanding of IAM security practices (MFA, adaptive authentication, delegated authorization, session security)
Nice-to-haves
Experience with Angular or .NET to support end-to-end IAM integration
Team & Culture
Team of 8 people: Frontend Developer, Fullstack Developer, Product Owner, Tester, UX Designer
Team culture: hands-on, innovative, informal, and result-oriented
