The Brand Strategy & Activation team builds the equity of Vattenfall Group’s brand portfolio in line with the corporate brand strategy and purpose, strengthening commercial results. It sets a coherent international direction while enabling markets to adapt the brand system to local audiences and objectives.
Purpose
The Brand Manager (Lead NL) develops, adapts and implements long-term brand-building campaigns and activations in close cooperation with Dutch market stakeholders. The role translates the overarching brand strategy into locally relevant activity and owns implementation, governance and budgeting for the market. The primary KPI is brand consideration.
Key responsibilities
The Brand Manager leads market campaign and asset development from strategy and creative direction through implementation and evaluation. The role builds brand equity, supports commercial objectives and corporate reputation, and creates relevant positive associations with Vattenfall.
Key responsibilities include
- Develop and implement market-relevant brand campaigns and activations that deliver long-term brand growth against agreed objectives and KPIs.
- Translate Group brand strategy into plans across communication channels, aligning with market and Group Brand stakeholders.
- Use brand tracking, customer and competitor research, media modelling and market trends to optimise strategy and execution.
- Define brand challenges with internal stakeholders and turn them into inspiring, viable implementation plans.
- Lead creative development and production, and brief and steer creative, media and research agencies.
- Set and manage budgets, performance specifications and KPIs; present recommendations to senior management and advise Brand MT on activation strategy.
- Collaborate with marketing, business, communications, legal and other functions; share best practice and enable delivery of the brand strategy.
Key deliverables/activities
- Deliver against the SF Communications scorecard, budget, timelines and agreed KPIs.
- Improve brand consideration, awareness and relevant brand attributes measured through brand tracking.
- Contribute to a well-functioning, engaged and enabled international team.
Organisation
The Brand Manager reports to the Director of Brand Strategy & Activation. The international Group Brand team is part of Staff Function Communications.
Skills
- Relevant higher education, preferably a university degree in marketing communications, branding or a related field.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience, including brand campaigns, creative assessment and agency collaboration.
- Proven marketing and branding experience in a complex international corporate environment, preferably where reputation and public acceptance are significant.
- Ability to connect brand activation strategy, tools and platforms to business challenges, stakeholder perceptions and commercial value.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence operating at both strategic and operational levels.
- Experience working with creative, media and research agencies.
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel and work from the assigned market and HQ when required.
