Do you want to be part of the clean energy transition and make a real impact through data? As a Data Engineer at Vattenfall, you will be part of an agile SCRUM team, working with advanced analytics tools across various systems to solve complex issues. You will collaborate closely with Vattenfall Wind stakeholders.

What you’ll do:

As a Data Engineer, your main focus will be designing, building, and maintaining data-driven products and solutions with strong emphasis on usability, visualization, and front-end integration. You will mainly work with the Microsoft Azure technology stack, using Power BI as the primary front-end tool to deliver intuitive and impactful data experiences for stakeholders.

What you bring:

  • Hands-on experience with analytics & BI tools, especially within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem (e.g. DAX, Databricks, Data Factory, Power BI);

  • Technical proficiency in product development using languages such as Python, DAX, SQL

  • Strong knowledge of Power BI dashboard development and best practices in data visualization;

  • Ability to creatively translate stakeholder requirements into effective visualizations;

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, ARM, GIT), ETL/ELT processes and APIs;

  • Experience working in agile development teams;

  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English;

  • Ability to analyze and translate business requirements into IT specifications, and proactively advise IT developers and business stakeholders;

  • Ideally, familiarity or a good understanding of the Energy Industry and Wind in particular.

  • Why are we hiring? 2 positions available, extra budget in the team. Expansion, moving from Python to Power BI tech stack.

  • Main challenges: migration of several dashboards.

  • Team size & roles: currently 3 members (mainly front-end engineers, back-end engineers, and data engineers).

  • Culture: positive, exciting times, but overall supportive atmosphere.

  • Freelance/ZZP? No, only via secondment.

  • Location: vacancy published in the Netherlands only.

  • Preferred CV language: English.

  • Absolute must-haves: DAX, Power BI (focus), Databricks, CI/CD pipelines, Python.

  • Scale: 9.

  • Experience required: 3–5 years minimum.

  • Education: no specific field required.

  • Energy sector experience: not mandatory, nice-to-have.

  • Office presence: Thursdays preferred, otherwise via Teams.
