Stedin is looking for a Senior Python Developer. (FREELANCE NOT ALLOWED) The indicative hourly rate is €100 all-in, excluding VAT.
Senior Python Developer
Flexible working and the possibility to work partly from home — that’s what you can expect as a Senior Python Developer at Stedin! In this role, you’ll combine technically challenging work with social impact, while actively coaching, guiding, and developing the other developers in your team.
The energy transition places high demands on our electricity grid. As a Senior Python Developer at Stedin, you will work on the further development of the Flex Toolkit. This innovative tool helps to optimize grid capacity by enabling accurate capacity calculations and flexible contract management. The result? Greater insight, improved decision-making, and reduced congestion.
You will collaborate with multiple teams, gather user feedback through workshops, and contribute to an Agile working environment. You will also ensure the integration of the Flex Toolkit with systems such as PowerFactory, Setiam, and SAP, ensuring smooth and seamless operation.
Your strengths
You’re an enthusiastic and inspiring colleague who thrives on developing new products in a dynamic and technically challenging environment. With your coaching and motivational approach, you foster the growth of fellow developers, help them reach their full potential, and contribute to a supportive and learning-oriented team culture.
You look beyond daily tasks, take initiative, and identify opportunities to turn ideas into valuable products and solutions that support business goals. With your strong communication skills, you work effectively across the team and help create a culture of continuous improvement — for yourself, your colleagues, and your customers.
What makes you our next Senior Python Developer?
- A higher professional education (HBO) level of working and thinking, preferably with a degree in Computer Science.
- At least 5 years of professional experience with strong proficiency in Python, especially for GUI and tool development. Practical experience with SQL, Git, Azure Cloud, Databricks, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with JavaScript, React, Vue.js, and/or Angular is a plus.
- Strong data analysis skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Knowledge and experience with Agile working methods is a plus.
We welcome candidates who don’t yet speak Dutch fluently but are willing to learn. A key requirement is the willingness to work from the Rotterdam office at least 50% of the time.
A great team to be part of
From day one, you will join the Agile Release Train (ART) Forecasting & Capacity Management. The team currently consists of a Product Owner, a Scrum Master, a Business Analyst, and three Developers. The team enjoys a high degree of autonomy within the architectural frameworks and works closely with other teams and systems involved in the entire maintenance process.
What brings us together? The drive to solve complex puzzles and create the best solutions. To promote transparency and collaboration, Stedin organizes Big Room Planning every quarter — a two-day event based on the Agile SAFe methodology, where IT and business colleagues come together to align and plan the work for the next quarter.
