All-round Research Instrument Maker A Research Instrument Maker plays a crucial role within Shell's research, particularly at the Energy Transition Campus Amsterdam (ETCA). To provide excellent service to various research and operational departments, instrument makers are needed who can quickly design and create innovative solutions. Specifically, designing, making, and processing many exotic materials requires great craftsmanship and experience. In this role, you work closely with various stakeholders and researchers. Clear communication in both English and Dutch is essential to achieve high-quality products. With a wide variety of advanced machines and processing techniques in the workshops, it is necessary to be hands-on and flexible. As a true all-rounder, you are capable of creating products using various techniques, including conventional and CNC machining, vacuum soldering, vapor deposition, laser welding and engraving, and more. As a Research Instrument Maker, you are responsible for providing precision mechanical technical services for experimental research installations and instruments through design, using expertise and creativity, by designing and manufacturing workpieces. Additionally, you are responsible for: Your Responsibilities ? Developing and manufacturing workpieces using multiple precision mechanical processing techniques. ? Creating 3D CAD models. ? Advising various stakeholders. ? Actively participating in Agile Ways of Working, including Continuous Improvement. ? Backing up other team members in the Mechanical Workshop team. '


What You Need ?

 Research Instrument Maker (MBO 4) education or equivalent.

 Extensive experience in developing and manufacturing precision mechanical instrumentation work.

 Experience in designing in 3D CAD, preferably in Siemens NX.

 Extensive expertise and knowledge in multiple precision mechanical processing techniques, including conventional techniques and (5-axis) CNC machining such as turning and milling.

 Good verbal and written communication in Dutch and English.

 A creative and innovative mindset.

 Flexibility and being a true team player.
