Your Team
You will join the DCM team, responsible for all activities within the white space of Rabobank’s data centers and critical facilities. We provides 24/7 support to guarantee continuity for our data centers in Utrecht, Best, and Boxtel, and coordinates colocation facilities in Amsterdam and London. Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do—working as one purposeful team.
Your Role
As a Data Center Engineer, you will be responsible for the physical deployment and maintenance of critical IT hardware and cabling systems. Your key tasks include:
• Installing, cabling, and powering servers, storage, and network equipment.
• Configuring server management interfaces (e.g., iLO, iDRAC) according to instructions.
• Troubleshooting Layer 1/2 connectivity issues and resolving hardware faults.
• Using DCIM and ticketing systems for asset tracking and incident management.
• Documenting cable routes, asset data, and changes.
• Guidance of service engineers and suppliers during installation, hardware replacement and incident resolution activities.
• Stand-by for planned/unplanned activities outside office hours.

What You Bring
• A completed MBO or HBO degree in IT, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Basic knowledge of electrical safety standards, preferably NEN3140 and ESD safety.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Dutch.
• A valid VCA certificate and driver’s license (category B), with willingness to travel between data center sites.
• Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when required.

Preferred Qualifications
• Proven experience with data center infrastructures (rack and stack, cold/hot aisle containment, structured cabling).
• Strong diagnostic skills in physical and data link layer networking.
• Ability to identify, isolate, and resolve connectivity issues (loops, bad ports, mismatched optics).
• Familiarity with cable documentation standards and physical network design principles.
• Previous work experience in Data Center Services is a plus.
• Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes.
