What will you be doing?
As part of a DevOps team you are responsible for daily operations (24x7), designing and building the Enterprise SQL Server environment. You will help with the transition and adoption of new solutions in Azure Cloud for databases. Products supported within that environment include the entire SQL Server Suite (Database Engine, Analysis Services, Integration Services and Reporting Services etc.).
You should have a good understanding of the possible impact of changes within the environment and assist colleagues in implementing them. You are able to work on complex problems on your own, within the team or with other departments. Excellent communication with our suppliers, clients within the bank and other colleagues is a crucial element of your job.
You will be involved in assisting development of new services & products and making them available to our customers. Our department consist of DevOps SQL Server specialists who are working together to deliver and maintain reliable and secure database services to the customers of the bank. The bank demands high quality, business continuity of the systems based on the SLA for a given system, some of which include 24x7 support. In your role you will be scheduled to work outside of office hours as part of the standby shift.
You have a passion for the job, believe in being ‘always on’ for our customers and are interested in the development of Microsoft/SQL Server products.

How will you be doing this?
You are an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator with general infrastructure, automation and cloud experience and will work in a self-steering team using the SCRUM methodology.
Your skills as a Database Administrator include products such as SQL Server database engine, SSAS and SSIS as well as support of other associated SQL products like MDS, (PowerBI) Reporting Services and others

For the infrastructure automation you are responsible for designing, developing, delivering and supporting the organization in migration and consolidation using CI/CD based solution.
Automation of work should be important to you, as this will give you more time to develop in other areas.

Our stack
Our multiplatform environment consists of mainly SQL Server 201x on virtual servers with some exceptions that use physical servers. We deploy Always On Availability Groups as our main High Availability solution. Monitoring is accomplished using SCOM.
Our pipeline will be based on designs and tooling that are already available at the bank such as Azure DevOps and PowerShell, however we are always open to introduce new CI/CD tooling that are fit for purpose.

Environment
Within Tech4Engineering we work in one of Rabobank's most complex and challenging IT environments. We provide and support our IT services from our own Data Centres in the Netherlands (Best and Boxtel) and align the IT services with the Rabobank locations around the world. What skills do you have?
Must have:
• Experience in Microsoft SQL Server suite of products
• Experience in Azure Cloud for Databases
• Experience in Microsoft Windows Server
• Experience in PowerShell
• Experience in scripting and automation
• Experience in the use of tools like Azure DevOps, Visual Studio Code and similar
• Experience in Always On Availability Groups and performance tuning
• Being able to provide 24X7 shift support on rotation basis
