The Financial Economic Crime (FEC) department maintains an overview of our client’s activities, allowing us to identify unusual, suspicious or potentially illegal activity. Together we safeguard our customers, the bank and society by detecting and preventing financial and economic crime.
FEC consists of several Pillars covering CDD, Sanctions, Transaction Monitoring, Risk and Compliance, Business Advisory, and Technology. Working together is at the heart of everything we do. Reaching the ambition of a world-class FEC organization can only be done when all functions within the bank work together and execute their role. Within our chain, we continuously strive to improve. All employees and managers provide their own value to the end result. The culture is open and, whilst the bar is set high, people are our most important assets. There is a safe environment where you are encouraged to address each other on quality and behaviour.
You and your job
As a Subject Matter Expert you will focus on Markets as a topic. Markets is a global division of Wholesale and Rural which offers risk management and funding products to our clients. You will work with other functions to identify and understand the FEC risks associated with the Global Markets business, and to ensure that the Bank’s FEC control framework adequately addresses those risks.

You will be engaged with and provide input to the Global SIRA and RAS processes. You will create a storyline how Rabobank is managing its FEC risk related to Markets and you will report periodically on the risk exposure, efforts and results.

You will work with stakeholders across the Bank to address findings and to ensure the timely execution of action plans. You will help to identify and define the control measures for the risks that we need to mitigate. These control measures may be focused on the prevention and/or the detection of risk and can be manual or automated. You will drive the implementation and enhancement of these control measures by their owners, who may be in or outside of the FEC organisation. You will identify the need for, and propose where necessary, updates to FEC policies.

You will provide expert advice to support effective operational handling, both in defining standard work instructions and in supporting individual cases as required. You may also be required to define training requirements or develop and provide trainings for staff members of the involved departments.
Responsibilities/Requirements • You are a strong sparring partner for our stakeholders, with a thorough knowledge of both the FEC domain and the risks related to Markets products and its clients; • You are an independent expert, who can drive progress and seek to address control and process deficiencies; • You create a project plan and manage responsibilities, dependencies and deadlines; • You track developments, observe issues and bottlenecks and report/consult/escalate, signalling trends and providing reports/management information; You work closely with other FEC teams to understand the challenges and risks within their processes; • You contribute to the implementation and operationalization of global procedures, standards and policies within the FEC domain; • You have a proactive, hands-on approach, with a strong focus on quality and adherence to internal policies and external regulations; • You provide solicited and unsolicited professional advice to colleagues from FEC, the business and (senior) management; • You stimulate the growth and embedding of expertise within the department by documenting sharing your knowledge, coaching and training colleagues.
Together we achieve more than alone We believe in the power of difference. Bringing together people's differences is what makes us an even better bank. Therefore, we are very curious about what you can bring to our team at FEC. You probably already know that Rabobank provides financial services for 7.1 million customers in 46 countries. Do you also know that we work together for a better world? We do this in 101 different ways such as:

• In a project with Humanities we help people with financial problems by getting their administration in order;

 • Every year we return part of our profit to society. We invest this money – which we call cooperative dividend – in various local initiatives;

• We continuously think about the future. We invest 3.8 billion euros in sustainable energy, so that generations after us can live in a cleaner world.
