As a Data Scientist within the LinQ GraphRAG team, you are at the forefront of the bank’s AI transformation. You join LinQ, an ecosystem of four specialized teams leveraging graph technology to improve services bank-wide and power critical social impact initiatives, such as the fight against financial crime. The team is responsible for exploring, validating and developing how GraphRAG can enhance GenAI by grounding Large Language Models (LLMs) with structured knowledge. You will accelerate innovation by experimenting with graph-based retrieval strategies and integrating them within the Data & Analytics landscape.

In this role, you help create and transform innovative ideas and experiments into high-quality, production-ready solutions. By bringing strong software engineering and coding expertise, you play a key role in scaling prototypes into robust, reliable products that create real business value.

Examples from practice

  • Build responsible and cost-effective GraphRAG solutions on large, unstructured datasets.

  • Analyse and optimise critical code to improve performance and scalability.

  • Turn explorational notebooks into a maintainable and testable codebase.

Facts & figures

  • 36 hours per week.

  • You work with transaction data from over 8 million customers.

  • Over 48,000 Rabobank colleagues worldwide.

Top 3 responsibilities

  • Create re-usable building blocks, which can be used all over the bank.

  • You bring experience on solving complex technical challenges and elevating the skills of those around you.

  • You take the lead in sharing best practices, mentoring teammates and fostering a culture of engineering excellence

Together we achieve more than alone

We believe in the power of differences. By combining people’s differences, we become an even better bank. Collaboration is our way of working, as one data-minded and technical team within Rabobank.

You & your talent

  • You have a Bachelor or Master degree in Data Science, Applied Mathematics, IT or a related field

  • At least 5 or more years of experience working as a Data Scientist with a strong focus on software engineering.

  • Strong object-oriented programming, data analysis and software engineering skills, and Python expertise is a must.

  • Skilled in Git, Databricks, PySpark and experience with cloud platforms (Azure).

  • You have a passion for exploring, building and bringing to production clean, well-structured, maintainable and testable solutions. You have experience in making components that can be re-used and standardized to support scale.

  • You are curious by heart, open to learn, proactive and experienced in collaboration with colleagues.

  • You communicate well in the English language (both spoken and written).

  • Solid understanding of statistical modelling and machine learning.

  • Experience in model deployment, performance tuning, and monitoring leveraging MLOps/DevOps is a plus.

  • Experience in Knowledge Graphs (GraphRAG), Semantics and Ontologies is a big plus.

  • You must be located in the Netherlands.
